Miscanthus
offers that alternative, as an environmentally
friendly and economic source of
high quality bedding material.
The
interest in alternative bedding has largely arisen over
concerns about respiratory problems.
Mitigation of this problem requires a high quality uniform
product, ideally produced specifically for this purpose.
Miscanthus canes are
harvested in the spring with low moisture content
and chopped which causes the cane to fractionate.
The cane is composed of two materials, a firm outer
layer, which forms the structure of the bedding and
a pure white pith centre, which forms the absorbent
component.

Due to the woody nature of
Miscanthus, the dust content is naturally low,
particles created during harvest are removed during
packaging.
The product can either be supplied in bulk or in
manageable square plastic bales.

The result is an exciting
development for equine and other animal requirement.
